Introducing: Thermo Layers

News

The UK’s unpredictable weather can be both a gift and a curse for long-distance runners; managing body temperature—thermoregulation is crucial. Too cold, and you'll dread every minute; too warm, and you risk dehydration and overheating.

The way to staying comfortable and safe lies in thermoregulation—your body’s ability to maintain a stable temperature. Proper clothing, designed to adapt to changing weather, is essential in supporting your body’s natural temperature control, keeping you running longer and feeling free to roam.

Why Layers?

Layering your clothes is a proven strategy for maintaining comfort and warmth in variable weather. Each layer works together to help your body adapt to temperature shifts and physical intensity: base layers wick moisture, mid-layers provide insulation, and outer layers protect against the elements.

When it comes to base layers, Merino One and Merino Two tees offer a flexible solution. Combine multiples of the same or both layers on colder days for customisable warmth, or wear them individually for lightweight comfort. This versatile system gives you complete control over your body temperature, whether you're out for a crisp autumn run or tackling a multi-day adventure in the hills.

Why Merino Wool?

Merino wool is a natural super fabric with properties perfectly suited for endurance running. It’s highly breathable and moisture-wicking, meaning it retains moisture without feeling wet, helping you cool down in warm weather and insulate when the temperature drops.

Merino is also naturally odor-resistant and bacteria-repellent, making it ideal for multi-day runs with minimal washing. By blending Merino wool with recycled polyester, we enhance durability, stretch, and moisture-wicking capabilities while retaining the softness and performance Merino is known for. The result is a fabric that’s lightweight, breathable, and built for movement—keeping you comfortable no matter what the weather throws at you.

Merino One Layer

The Merino One Tee is our lightest layer, designed for high-intensity runs and warmer days on the trail. Made from a 90 g/m² blend of Merino wool and recycled polyester, it’s ultra-breathable, quick-drying, and naturally odor-resistant.

Wear it solo in hot weather or as a light base layer when temperatures drop. Built for versatility, comfort, and freedom of movement, it’s an essential piece for any trail runner’s wardrobe.

Best use cases: Warm-weather trail running, layering for autumn days, and carrying as an additional layer for multi-day runs where pack weight matters.

Merino Two Layer

The Merino Two Tee is designed for milder weather and challenging conditions. A 135 g/m² fabric blend offers extra warmth while maintaining breathability and moisture-wicking performance. The heavier fabric traps warm air close to the body, acting as an effective insulator without overheating you during intense activity.

This tee is perfect for mild runs on its own or colder runs when used as a second layer. Despite its slightly thicker feel, it remains soft and stretchy, ensuring comfort and unrestricted movement.

Best use cases: Mild-weather trail running, layering for winter adventures, and early morning runs in unpredictable weather.

Mastering your layering system is essential to staying comfortable and performing your best, no matter what the UK weather throws at you. Solo or in combination, Merino One and Merino Two tees offer the perfect balance of warmth, breathability, and durability.
